Madglove: A Startup with a Purpose — How People in Our Community Shape Innovation

At Madglove, we’ve always known that people are at the core of everything we do. Whether it’s our team members or the community we serve, human connection and collaboration inspire us to create the best version of our rehabilitation glove.

Recently, as we prepared to launch a new series on our social platforms, Meet the Team, we were reminded of why we began this journey: to improve the lives of people, one innovative step at a time.

In putting together this new series, one question kept surfacing: What inspires you the most about working with Madglove?

Universally, the answer was simple—people. It’s people that drive us to refine our rehabilitation glove, improve its accessibility, and ultimately transform lives.

As Sitah shared during the creation of the series, “What inspires me the most about working at Madglove is actually the people—both the ones we’re making the glove for and the ones working alongside me in the team.”

This sentiment echoes throughout our entire startup. We’re a group of passionate individuals who have come together not only to build an accessible rehabilitation glove but also to bridge the gap between clinical and home rehabilitation.

Our motivation stems from a powerful realisation—while patients receive incredible support from their families and communities, there’s often a lack of engaging, motivating tools at home to continue their rehabilitation journey. We wanted to address this gap. Our rehabilitation glove is more than a piece of tech; it’s a means of empowerment, designed to encourage people to stay engaged, active, and hopeful.

Some of the most impactful moments in our journey have come during testing sessions with potential users. Seeing the product evolve and witnessing their excitement grow with each iteration has been immensely rewarding. One of our team’s fondest memories is from our very first test session.

As Tobi described it perfectly “There was so much enthusiasm—it hit me personally. The realization that people are really looking for something like this motivated me in ways I can’t describe. Every challenge becomes easier when you see the hope in their eyes.”

Co-creation is at the heart of Madglove. We listen, we learn, and we build with people, not just for them. Our testing sessions are more than product trials; they’re moments of connection that remind us why we started this innovative journey in the first place. We’re not just creating a rehabilitation glove—we’re building a community of support, hope, and transformation.

As a startup in the medical technology field, the road can be tough. But every challenge we face becomes lighter when we remember the lives we aim to touch. Whether it’s refining the glove to make it more accessible or listening to feedback from testers, our commitment is clear: we want to help as many people as possible!
